…. and a special note from our manufacturer of this wonderful product:
Ashwagandha root has been used in Ayurveda for hundreds of years as a rejuvenative and is now a known adaptogen, which means it can help the body resist stress of all kinds by adapting to the body’s need. The word Ashwagandha literally means ‘smell of a horse‘, but is often related more to ‘strength of a horse‘ due to its ability to support strength & vitality.
Among the other well known benefits of Ashwagandha are its ability to support healthy sleeping patterns, reduce stress, support immune system and healthy reproductive systems for both men and women.
For women: Ashwagandha root can be especially beneficial during conception, pregnancy and postpartum.
Advice given to someone who queried the breastfeeding angle:
“There has been over 60 research articles on this herb – finding it safe for breastfeeding mums, in a book called Boost your Breast Milk, an all in one guide for nursing mothers to build a healthy supply, Ashwagandha is highly recommended. A good book to source.
It is considered a Level 1Herb, or safe while breastfeeding.
The only time I recommend not to take this is if the mom has hyperthyroidism. Then it may be better to chose another adaptogen or to work with a professional health care practitioner.
I gave this herb to a client law whilst breastfeeding, she had chronic PND, and we actually found it helped the baby settle nicely and eased her depression.
It is amazing for breastfeeding mums who are experiencing stress.
Other herbs that are safe and amazing are Lemon Balm, Stinging Nettle and Raspberry Leaf.
1 capsule twice a day of Ashwagandha is the recommended dose, I say morning and evening.
